02:12 am: Uh oh
Earlier this week, one of the children at the daycare was kept at home because he had a really high temperature. We found out yesterday that he has chickenpox. Now, this wouldn't have been such a problem for me because this child is in the toddler room and I work with infants. Well, since I didn't know the symptoms of chickenpox, I didn't know what to look for... until now. There is another child, who I think has chickenpox. -sighs- I'm going to text his parents in the morning and see if the sores have gone away since yesterday, but I'm guessing there are more.

I wasn't terribly worried about the chickenpox until about 30 minutes ago when I realized this other child may have the chickenpox. Since my sister and I have never had the chickenpox, we may very well have caught it, since this little boy is all about giving kisses. I was hoping to go all of my life without getting the chickenpox, but, 24 seems like an awesome age to have them too. XD

I don't want the chickenpox. I can't afford to get the chickenpox. I don't have insurance to go to the doctor if I do get chickenpox.

My mom is going to be so pissed if we get the chickenpox.

( Daycare woes )

It sounds like I'm going to be getting a new car. I'm not entirely when, but I'm hoping it's going to be before the hard winter comes in November. I have my eyes on a lovely little 2008 Toyota Yaris. It's used, but it's only had one owner and there's only 14,000 miles on it. The price is $13,300, so I'm hoping to put down $2,000 so I can drop my payments down to $268 instead of $316. That's two months of saving all of my paychecks.

Of course, I have to factor in full insurance, so I'm going to see if I can get a quote and go from there. I may end up asking my grandfather for a loan of $1,000 to see if I can get a down payment of $3,000. I'm excited because getting a new car means I would have air conditioning again (I nearly got heat stroke twice this summer because of the lack of a/c) and I would have heat. It would be so nice having a working heater when it's -40F in January.

On September 12, my mother, sister, cousins, aunt and myself will be in Shakopee, MN for the Renaissance Festival. Woot! It's been six years since I was last there, so I'm extremely excited! Yay people in costumes! Yay cheese curds! Yay beer cheese soup! Yay Irish heritage weekend!

On to a completely different topic. My sister is going to England for Christmas. Lucky bastard. She's going to spend the holiday with her partner and her partner's family. She's leaving the 21st of December and not getting back until the 4th of January. Apparently, my sister is making Christmas dinner for the whole family and I wish her luck with that endeavor. XD My grandfather was less than happy to hear the news, but he thinks my sister is going to see a friend in England and not her partner. Grandpa doesn't know about L yet and he might not know ever. It's up to Cat to tell him about L, and since my sister is the biggest coward, he'll probably be left in the dark. Personally, I think my sister underestimates my grandfather, but that's just me.

By the by, The Sims 2 is totally sucking away my life. I can't believe how much I play that game now. XD

I've recently started a new "treatment" for a disorder I have. Only Face, Worri and Mo know about this, but I figured there has to be someone else out there on my flist that has this same disorder, so why not share it. I have Trichotillomania, which is a disorder in which I pull my hair out. Not just my hair but my eyelashes and eyebrows too. As far as I can tell, I developed Trichotillomania when I lived in Minnesota. I started pulling out my eyebrows when I started high school, my eyelashes and hair pulling started when I moved to Jamestown. It started to get noticeable when I was a junior and I lost a lot of hair along my part line. At that time I had long hair so it couldn't easily be disguised.

My mother took me to the doctor and the doctor thought it was stress related. In some ways it was, but I didn't bother to tell her that I was the one pulling out my hair because I was ashamed. It wasn't until this year that I finally found out that I had a disorder. It's all thanks to Stumble too. XD

Anyway, back on subject. News came out ealier this month about a study that took place in Minnesota, at the U of M, that half of the participants who were on this "drug" showed noticeable improvement. This drug is an over the counter antioxidant called N-acetylcysteine or NAC. I've been taking it for a few weeks now. I haven't seen much of a change, yet, but it'll take some time before I do.

My mother and my sister have been helping me with my hair pulling. I've asked them to watch me when I play with my hair or to tell me to stop when it looks like I'm about ready to pull. It's really hard and extremely embarrassing, but I'm very tired of having to hide my hair.

06:42 pm: Woo! Week long Harry Potter Party!
Or, in other words: WOO! Harry Potter Movie Night Week! WOO!

Yeah. I'm excited for the new movie. I'm sure there are things in the movie that will probably piss me off, but hey, it's a movie. Plus, I've got the books and the books are always better than the movies. And so is my imagination. :D Still, I'm pumped for the new movie and I have to say that I missed this feeling a lot. Ah, the warm fuzzies. Now, I need my fanfic muses back and all will be right with the world.

...I really need more HP icons.

On to other things!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was an AMAZING book. Granted, I never read Pride and Prejudice, but still. What an awesome book. I had it finished in a day. Yeah. I'm that good. And, I totally want Mr. Darcy. XD

I managed to get the flu this weekend. I'm not sure if it's the H1N1 strain or not (lol) but it sure made me feel pretty shitty Saturday and Sunday. I blame my sister. She's the one who got me sick in the first place. I really hate being sick. But, at least I'm not a baby 'cause DAMN, those babies can catch anything. Late last month we had a mini outbreak of Hand, Foot and Mouth disease at the daycare. It spread like wild fire through the toddlers and infants.

God damn, tiny!Daniel Radcliffe is adorable as all hell. Too bad he had to grow up. :D

I have officially found the lamest reason for calling work to say I'll be late. My mother's dog, Keiko, managed to knock over a twelve pack of Sierra Mist and cause three cans to explode all over the kitchen floor. Imagine how stupid it sounds calling into work, telling them you'll be late because you have to mop your floor to clean up exploded pop.

The freshmen at my college are a bunch of whiny babies. "Ooh, I have to do work. Poor me." "Ooh, I don't like this class, I'm going to bitch." "Oooh, I'm not going to do the work so I'm going to flunk my class because I have more important things to do."

TOO FUCKING BAD, DUMBASS. If you don't pass your Journey class as a freshman, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT AGAIN BECAUSE YOU'RE ONLY A FRESHMAN ONCE. Sucks to be you! -points and laughs- I can't wait to see you flunk out of college. Or, if you do miraculously graduate and you're applying for a job, how are you going to explain that big F on your transcript. "Why is there a F on your Journey 101 class?" "Um, because I thought it was a waste of my time and I didn't want to do the work for it?" Yeah, good luck with that one, bloody idiot.

Oh! And to the dumbass who decided it would be a really good fucking idea to slander my mother's name in a public forum, sucks to be you! I reported your ass. Sorry. Slander is a huge fucking deal. Too bad you haven't learned that in your Journey 101 class. OH WAIT! YOU DID! You just weren't paying attention.

09:28 pm: Fuck K-Mart! Fuck Christmas, too!
God damn, I bloody hate retail. For well over a month, I have listened to nothing but Christmas music on the K-Mart radio channel. I've also had to deal with asshole customers and bitches beyond compare. BAH! I hate people with a passion this time of year. Honestly, what the fuck happened to the Christmas cheer? Why are people such assholes to retail workers? You know, it's not like we, the employees, have any control. We have none. Not even our managers can do anything about it. You can thank the fuckers sitting in their comfy chairs, drinking expensive alcohol and laughing at the dumbasses like me, working for them, and the customers like you, making them loads more money this holiday season. The fact that we're more concerned about getting presents for our loved ones (and yes, we all deserve a present) then actually getting into the spirit of the holidays, bites my ass.

Christmas is by far, my most hated holiday of all. People are rude, they're mean and downright nasty. It doesn't matter if I smile until my cheeks hurt or if I wish my customer a happy fucking Christmas, they're still assholes, for the most part. Keep in mind, there are customers who are nice and make working at K-Mart worth it during the holidays, but for the most part, the customers are dumb fucks who can't even be pleasant to the people helping you find the gifts your family desperately needs.

Therefore, I make my yearly plea to my f-list. Be nice to the cashiers, the floor associates, the managers and anyone else who is working over the holiday. Say Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays, smile and thank them because it makes it so much easier for the ones who have to work retail.

10:53 pm: Dun dun dun... another update
I gotta tell you, I just love the weather in the great state of North Dakota. The weekend of the 1st was a beautiful weekend with 60 degree weather. Thursday the 6th rolls around and BAM! Blizzard. How awesome is that? Four days it took for winter to get. Everyone in North Dakota knew that the indian summer was not going to last, but damn it, I sure as hell wanted it to last. Now I'm freezing my tits off and sliding around the three inches of ice that covers the streets of Jamestown because it had to rain before we got the blizzard. And heaven fucking forbid the city of Jamestown actually puts down sand and salt to keep cars on the road. God, I hate this state some times.

Cat and I are probably going to end up in Park Rapids this weekend. My grandmother wanted us to go to Minnesota for Thanksgiving but more than likely I'm going to have to work. Joy and fucking rapture, lemme tell you. So, this is the compromise. We'll leave early Saturday morning, since we can't leave on Friday (fucking deer) and we'll get back in the late afternoon on Sunday. It's not nearly as long as my grandmother would like, but it's what we can do. Maybe we'll see if we can spend the 24th of December with the Georginas and the 25th with the Devitts. -shrugs- Who knows? I may very well be working again. -snorts-

Speaking of work, things at K-Mart are rapidly growing more chaotic as the season of cheer grows nearer. I've already said Bah Humbug at least 30 times in the span of a week, because, lucky us, K-Mart is blasting bloody Christmas music and it's only the second week of November. I really don't enjoy the holidays. People are assholes and asshats and they all need to work at my job for a day and shut the hell up about everything. So, on top of the happy holiday season, I'm learning two departments. Jewelry and Fashions. I was the unlucky soul to have to set Jewelry ad by myself yesterday, so I am anticipating hell when I get to work tomorrow because I'm sure I did it all wrong. The best part though, it doesn't matter that I haven't had any real training over there yet, my ass will still be chewed. Bah bloody humbug.

Things at the daycare have gone to hell. It's currently an 'us against you' environment between most of the employees and one other woman who works there. It hasn't been pretty and said employee has pulled a bunch of shit that could very well get her ass fired. But, on top of that stress, we have one child who bites and it isn't getting better, it's getting worse. Apparently, he's also biting at home. It would one thing if it just happened at the daycare, but if it's happening at home, there's something going on. On top of all of that, we have a new biter, which stunned the shit out of all of us today, considering this child never bites. So, we're worried and rightly so in my opinion.

That seems to be about it. I'm tired and I'm freezing my ass off in my basement. I'm going to go to bed. But first, omfg! HEROES!

We're closing in on a week here and we still don't have internet at the house.

I totally wiped Cat's computer clean (and had to get help from Mo - Thanks, MO!), so, hopefully my mother will call Quest and have the internet fixed by the end of tomorrow. 'Cause it's incredibly irritiating having to come to the college to do things that I could be doing from the comfort of my own home. Bah!

But, it's not as if I really have a whole lot going on that keeps me from getting to the college. I'm just lazy. And tired. I'm on day five of my six day stretch at K-Mart and it's slowly killing me. The only thing keeping me sane is The Sims. If it wasn't for that game, I would be bored out of my bloody mind every night. Oh, and Worri too. She's been keeping my sanity intact for a long time now. XD

Just three more days until Halloween! SWEET! Tomorrow I have to purchase a few sheets of bright green paper and start making my costume. w00t! Sim!Artsy is going to be an amazing thing. I shall enjoy being drunk and having a spinning green diamond above my head. I wonder how many people will actually get my costume. Hopefully I can get my camera to work so I can take pictures and post them to ADIML.

OH! And OMFG, Heroes is awesome. I know a lot of people don't like how the show is going and they keep thinking it's full of shit, but I love every bloody minute. I guess I just don't care that it's a cracky season. I also officially ship (and it's a het ship too - omg) Matt/Daphne. <3 Yeah, so Daphne isn't eactly being truthful with Matt right now, but he'll wise up soon enough. And seriously, the mindfucks with the Petrelli family are just awesome. They really know how to manipulate each other. It's great.

What else? Oh. K-mart blows, but everyone knows that already. I am now being crosstrained into the Softlines area of the store. This means I'll be the K-Mart bitch. Not only will I know all of Hardlines (Electronics, Hardware, Sports, Toys, Pantry and HBA), I'll also know everything there is to know about Softlines (Jewelry, Domestics and Fashions). I'm probably going to get fucked over in the end, but eh, what can you do? At least I'll know how to change a watch battery. XD

There isn't really much else to report, other than, I got new tires, from my mother and grandfather. Of course, I didn't get them because I wanted them, I got them because it was absolutely necessary that I get new ones. My tires were bald. There was nothing on them any more and I probably would've had a blow out this winter. So, now I can travel the slick Jamestown roads this winter and actually stay on the fucking road. Hurrah!

I don't know why I enjoy saying that so much, but I do. So, let's say it again. Suck it.

I totally owned my sore throat, but I am now stuck with one nasty cough. Yuck. I hate coughing. It starts to hurt after a while.

Just three more finals. Just three more and then I'm free for the summer. Yay! But not really. I get to work. Boo! But only for a month, then I get the first of my two vacations. Minnesota, here I come! Though, I'd much rather go annoy Face, Worri, Mo and Kala instead of going to Minnesota. I miss my friends! -sniffs-

I hate it when I get an idea for a fic, write it down and then lose all interest in writing it. It was a good idea! I just need my inspiration back. School has zapped my creativity. Hopefully I'll be able to knock out a story here within the month, that way I can feel accomplished. If Worri can draw again (I'm still waiting for my MattMo porn -eyes you-) then I sure as hell can write again. -nods-
